Newport Aquarium, in Newport, Kentucky, turned fifteen this year and remains a favorite destination for both young and old - how could it not be! Along with the transparent, underwater tunnels that make you feel as if you're in the water with all these magnificent animals, Newport Aquarium features a host of exhibits that will amaze, educate, and fascinate you - some of which you'll find nowhere else!
Take shark rays, for example. Newport Aquarium is the only aquarium in the world with a shark ray breeding program. Shark rays are a rarity in any aquarium and Newport Aquarium has four of these graceful beauties with their human-like eyes - the largest collection in the world.

Surrounded By Sharks is 385,000 gallons of salt water playing home to tiger sharks, zebra sharks, stingrays, the aforementioned shark rays, a 200-pound loggerhead sea turtle named Denver, and 85 feet of clear acrylic tunnels that you can walk through!
Gator Alley is Newport Aquarium's collection of crocodilians and it's the most diverse one in the country, with eight species from four continents, including Mighty Mike: the biggest alligator in the country outside of Florida - wow!
Kroger Penguin Palooza is home to dozens of cold-weather penguins - five different species - one of the largest collections in the US. These friendly and curious birds will amaze and amuse you as they frolic in their Newport Aquarium home.
Frog Bog contains 20 species of exotic frogs and a special feature - The Frog Bog Jungle Gym - which lets children find secret frog tanks visible only when they climb through the exhibit's many tunnels and tubes.
Jellyfish Gallery features more than 100 beautiful, floating jellyfish. One of the most serene and fascinating exhibits at the aquarium.
Turtle Canyon is Newport Aquarium's newest attraction, boasting more than 14 turtle species from three continents, including a 600 pound Galapagos Tortoise and a 118 pound Alligator Snapping Turtle - two of the largest species in the world. You can even touch some of the residents at the Turtle Corral!
