Discover the Charm of Old Louisville

placeholder
Old Louisville is one of the most well-preserved collections of Victorian style homes in the country. Once the place where the wealthiest of Kentuckians lived, it saw its decline as technology advanced and having servants to run the large homes became more expensive and less practical.

The homes and neighborhood as a whole fell into disrepair for decades. In the 70s, local activists began restoring these old, derelict homes to their former glory. What has developed since is a vibrant, eclectic and beautiful neighborhood that many different people call their home. It's full of boutique shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

Don't take a trip to Louisville without visiting this amazing part of the city.

What Visitors are Saying...

Gorgeous homes and fascinating history!

My husband and I really loved this tour! We were visiting Louisville for the weekend and wanted to get a better idea of what the city was like. David was an incredible guide who had so much knowledge of the architecture and history of the 45 blocks of Old Louisville. Because this area isn't in the main tourist spots, you would never know it's here - and that's such a shame because it's gorgeous and SO charming! You learn so much about the roots of the city, and even get to hear some fun witch and ghost stories. We had a great time and it was our favorite activity we did while there! -Lindsey J.

Fun and Interesting!

Our family of 6 took this tour and loved it. More than just architecture, there was fun history, beautiful gardens, secret walkways, and a ghost story or 2. The 90 minutes just flew by! I would highly recommend this tour. -Robin T.

It's a "must see" in Louisville!

This tour was awesome. For someone born in Louisville this neighborhood is known for its Art Fair but the beauty and charm of the area is not appreciated until you can walk through it slowly. David gives you an overview of the history, architecture and the ghost stories! I highly recommend taking one of David's tours if you live in Louisville or are from out of town. This ranks up there with the Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs. It's a "must see" in Louisville! -Mike K.
