Rosecrest Farm, nestled on prime Bluegrass land just outside Paris, KY, is a Thoroughbred nursery owned and operated by Charles and Lyra Miller since 2005.
Since the 1980's, the Millers followed the Thoroughbred industry, were regular attendees at the Keeneland Sales each year, and avid racegoers from their home in Cincinnati. When presented with the opportunity to buy 150 acres surrounded by Claiborne Farm, Cane Ridge Cattle ... the chance to make dreams a reality was too great to turn down.
Rosecrest is home to 10 mares, and the resulting number of foals and yearlings, owned by the Millers. Two retired racehorses live in a front field and the small paddocks near a back barn are perfect for the occasional horse in training on a layup from the track.
The Millers began racing in 2008 and have already had winners at Keeneland, Churchill Downs, Ellis Park and Hawthorne, racing in the name of Rosecrest Farm.
We loved staying at Rosecrest Farm. The guest house is lovely, beautiful and comfortable furnishings throughout. The bed was super comfortable, linens were very high end. Breakfast was delicious both mornings. Bourbon infused coffee was superb.
The highlight was the tour of the horse farm. Loved interacting with the horses.
You definitely want to stay here when visiting the Lexington area!
